Quantitative EEG (qEEG)
What is Quantitive EEG?
Quantitative EEG, is sometimes referred to as brain mapping. It is the measurement through the digital technology of electrical patterns at the surface of the scalp which primarily reflects cortical electrical activity or “brainwaves.” Brainwaves occur at various frequencies. Some are fast, and some are quite slow. The classic names of these EEG bands are delta, theta, alpha, and beta.
The qEEG assists us in knowing if there are abnormalities in brain function that EEG neurofeedback might be helpful in treating, and lets us know how we can individualize neurofeedback to the unique problems of each patient. For example, there have been many subtypes of ADD/ADHD which have been identified in scientific research – none of which can be diagnosed by observing the person’s behavior. Some clinicians use a one-size-fits-all approach that uses a standardized intervention based only on the fact, for example, that someone has received an unrefined, overall diagnosis of ADD/ADHD based on their behavioral symptoms. However, a sophisticated QEEG brain map allows us to look much deeper and to tailor treatment to each patient’s brain pattern. When treatment is focused on altering brain function, we strongly recommend that you allow us to follow a careful approach to treatment planning that is founded on scientific psychophysiological (QEEG) evaluation, rather than prematurely beginning neurofeedback based on limited information, educated guesses or theories about what the underlying problems and processes may be.

What is Neurotherapy?
Evaluation and Biofeedback
We strive to provide you with quality and relevant treatment and quality customer service at a price you can afford.
Patient Services – EEG Evaluation and Neurological report costs
Our evaluations and patient services are designed to help guide you to the best type of intervention to help improve how you feel and perform.
A functional EEG or quantitative EEE (Q-EEG) evaluation is the first step towards a recommendation of the best Biofeedback and Neurofeedback therapy.
Patient Services – Biofeedback and Neurofeedback Costs
The cost for Biofeedback or Neurofeedback cost will depend on a number of factors, including:
- How quickly you respond to training
- How compliant you are with recommendations outside of training (eg., sleep routine, nutrition, exercise, etc.)
- Your goals and your testing results
If you elect to receive any biofeedback/neurofeedback services at our office, there is an additional fee of $50 beyond that of an office visit. If you are using insurance, your co-pay and deductible will apply.
In general, neurofeedback training requires a minimum of 20 sessions. The average number of sessions is 30-50.
The number of sessions required for biofeedback depends on a number of factors, but generally biofeedback (heart rate variability, muscle tension/GSR and temperature training) requires 2-5 sessions.
We want you to feel your best. Call us if you have any questions.
Prices subject to change. Please telephone for most up to date pricing.
